Leave It Alone, 2023

Leaves soon leave the warmth of the tree
They wither away though they are set free
The tumbling leaves may turn over a new leaf
Yet without the tree they find no relief
We all need an anchor to feel free
A tree or friend or whatever it might be
When the colours in your life grow dim
When the chances of survival seem slim
When with adversity you cannot cope
When there appears to be no hope
When your heart is weighed down with sorrow
Worry not for it will be better tomorrow
Reach out for that anchor you own
That tree grown from the seeds you had sown
A riot of colours green, gold and brown
Will lift up your spirits when you are down
Though the leaves drop down in autumn
Leave it alone for spring will soon come
