You, Me and the Sea, 2023

Dr Muna Ather

Acrylic on canvas

Done on canvas sheet 12"×16" with acrylics, using a palette knife and paint brushes

Framed in white / Black

Here I stand

Mired in the sand

Back to the wall

Having lost my all

Devil at my back

Resources i lack

My biggest enemy

The deep blue sea

Is seething in front

A predator on the hunt

I realise now

That somehow

My biggest enemy

Is me myself - within me

But here you are

Ever close never afar

And as I turn away

I can hear you say

“though you turn your back

Fear not – i’ll always have your back”
